Houston, Day 1

Jeff DeBevec, VP of communications at Belmont Village Senior Living, is an important character in the making of The Last Good War.  Jeff was one of the first people I was introduced to when I started researching veterans and compiling stories for the book. If it wasn't for him, All of This would not be happening.  It was Jeff who saw the potential in this project when Tom consulted him to take pictures of WWII veterans in his community.  Because of the Belmont commission Tom was able to spend a year traveling the country taking pictures of unsung WWII heroes.

Now that the book is out, everyone has questions.  We kicked the day off doing a radio interview with Pat Hernandez from KUHF.  This was a followed by a special reception honoring the WWII veterans in Houston--namely Dominic Calabrese and Joseph Zilley--who are included in the book.  Documentation of the event courtesy of Fox news can be seen here.

In the evening we presented at the Royal Oaks Barnes and Noble.

Still not used to seeing this...
