I remember the day I met Dawneen. I was walking home from class wearing a backwards blue corduroy hat, and I decided to go to the retirement community in my neighborhood to see if there was anybody interesting to photograph for a class assignment. Dawneen told me about a famous WWII Army Ranger. I ended up photographing the WWII vet and Dawneen thought it would be a good idea to photograph more vets.... and four years later I got a book published!
